Painting of My Dads View

A view from my father's home in Pennsylvania.

While visiting my dad in the quiet mountains of Pennsylvania this past summer, I took this photo with my cell phone as we were walking around the area. This is his view from his front yard. He lives on the top of a mountain over looking the beautiful valley below. He grew up here and loves the peace and quiet of the country life. As I got to thinking , what better a gift than to give a gift so personal to him and, possibly for Christmas! So I printed out a quick ref photo on computer paper and got to work with my oils. As I was painting , I fell in love with the view that I have seen so many times before but never" felt " the view like I was feeling while painting it. I gave it to him for a Christmas gift this holiday and he loved it, and it now is displayed in his home. I am sharing this with you, as it is one of my personal paintings I really enjoyed creating. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it!
